NAMPA — Quarterback Devin Asselin connected with Nick Campbell for a 35-yard TD strike in the final minutes, lifting Nampa Christian to its 22-19 victory against visiting Grangeville on Friday night in the opening round of the 2A state playoffs.
Nampa Christian (5-3) will play at Parma (8-0) on Friday in the 2A state quartefinals.
Asselin was 8-of-20 for 120 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 69 yards on 13 carries. Austin Fricke threw a 38-yard TD pass to Darryl Van Grouw and also caught a 25-yard TD pass.
5A SIC District playoffs
Mountain View 42, Meridian 7
MERIDIAN — Michael Ho-Lewis and Tyson Percifield each scored two rushing touchdowns as Mountain View (7-2) advanced into the next round of the 5A SIC playoffs against Capital (9-0).
Ho-Lewis rushed for 215 yards on 24 carries, Percifield was 13-of-20 for 161 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Zander Miles caught seven passes for 79 yards for Mountain View.
3A State Playoffs
Weiser 28, Buhl 7
BUHL — Darin Thomas accounted for two touchdowns as Weiser advanced into the 3A state quarterfinals.
Weiser will host South Fremont next week at a time/date to be determined.
Weiser recorded 194 yards on the ground, led by Blake Sappe (16 rushes, 74 yards, touchdown) and Thomas (nine rushes, 64 yards, touchdown).
Also leading Weiser was Alton Funk (four catches, 89 yards) and quarterback Austin Winegar (8-of-12, 124 yards), who threw a 12-yard TD pass to Thomas.

Wilder 38, Rimrock 26
WILDER — Tyler Williams rushed for 260 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns, leading Wilder to its season-finale 38-26 victory.
"He's a beast," said Wilder coach Kyle Dasaglio, whose team improved to 5-2.
Tony Rocha returned a fumble 5 yards for another touchdown, and Gabino Silva had 64 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown.
