Vikings run wild in 41-14 victory

MIDDLETON — Middleton rushed for 420 yards en route to its win over visiting Kuna.

K.J. Herbert led the way with 125 yards and one touchdown rushing and one receiving, Bobby Skinner added 121 yards and two TDs, and Justin Scott had 96 yards and one touchdown on the ground for the Vikings (6-2 overall, 5-1 4A SIC).

With the win, Middleton inched closer to clinching a playoff spot. The Vikings play at Skyview next Friday.

"Right now we're still alive," Middleton coach Bill Brock said. "Next week, we win and we're in, essentially. It just comes down to the game. .... It's a big game."

Kuna receiver Austin Howland had a 43-yard touchdown catch and an 85-yard TD kickoff return.

Skyview 27, Mtn. Home 14

NAMPA — Sam Cook threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns, plus ran for another, as the Skyview Hawks took out the Mountain Home Tigers 27-14 in a 4A SIC football battle Friday. It was the third straight win for the Hawks who kept their playoff hopes alive.

"The kids have bought in to each other," Skyview coach David Young said. "They understand what it takes to get the job done."

Cook hit Greg Krahenbuhl (25 yards), Travis Gropp (24) and Luke Austin (58) for touchdowns, and scored on a 1-yard sneak in the third quarter. Austin led the way with five catches for 145 yards. Defensively, Mike Iordanescu had 11 tackles and an interception for the Hawks (4-4, 4-2). Tommy Miller ran for 146 yards in the loss for the Tigers (1-7, 1-5).

Meridian 27, Centennial 20, OT

MERIDIAN — Kevin Hallock threw three touchdown passes, leading the Meridian Warriors to a comeback victory over Centennial in 5A SIC Division II action.

Hallock found Nic Bowens with a 37-yard scoring strike with 4:41 to play, then Hallock ran in the 2-point conversion to force overtime.

Tied 20-20, the Warriors (3-5, 2-2) won it when Hallock found Skeeter Thomas with a 10-yard TD toss, then the Warrior defense held off the Patriots to finish the win.

Hallock completed 16-for-29 passes for 185 yards and also ran for 72 yards on 10 carries, while Hayden Stout ran for 135 yards on 22 carries to lead Meridian.

Eric Dzwilewski led the Patriots (5-3, 2-2) completing 8-of-17 passes for 101 yards and threw a touchdown to Cori Harris.

Eagle 42, Rocky Mountain 28

EAGLE — Tevin Archuleta threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another, but it wasn't enough as Rocky Mountain fell to Eagle in 5A SIC Division I action.

Archuleta completed 15-of-22 passes for 212 yards, throwing touchdowns to Dallas Burroughs and Zach Batis.

Jordan Deck added a rushing score and finished with 93 yards on 12 carries for the Grizzlies (5-3, 3-2).

Scoring plays and complete stats for Eagle were not provided.

 

Fruitland 28, Weiser 7

WEISER — Dalton Blackwell ran for a trio of touchdowns, leading Fruitland to a 28-7 win over Weiser, and a share of the 3A SRV season title.

Jordan Martin added a score for the Grizzlies (5-3, 3-1 SRV), who took a 21-0 lead early in the fourth quarter. Martin finished with 77 yards on 16 carries while Blackwell added 59 yards on 15 carries.

Austin Winegar threw a 21-yard hook-and-lateral touchdown pass to Darin Thomas for the lone Wolverines score, while Thomas led Weiser (5-3, 3-1) on the ground with 43 yards on 10 carries.

Parma 56, Marsing 0

MARSING — Brody Fuller had punt returns of 62 yards and 56 yards for touchdowns in the first quarter as the Parma Panthers defeated Marsing 56-0 to finish the regular season undefeated.

Trevor Kramer had 129 yards passing and a 72-yard touchdown pass to Randy Riley. Kramer also added two more touchdowns on the ground for Parma (8-0 overall, 4-0 2A WIC).

Marsing (1-6, 0-4) managed just 107 total yard in the loss.

Notus 56, Garden Valley 28

GARDEN VALLEY — Kerby Anderson scored five rushing touchdowns on 136 yards, as Notus beat Garden Valley 56-28. Blake Stish had three receptions on two-point conversions and had a 37-yard reception where he was tackled at the 1-yard line.

Full stats were not available for the game.
