Where you know them: Starlight Mountain Theatre presents a series of popular outdoor performances in the Magic Valley each summer. They return to their winter home in Boise for three productions that run into January of next year. Their current production is the hilarious and macabre "Little Shop of Horrors" that plays tonight and tomorrow, Nov. 6-7 and Nov. 13-14. Two special midnight performances are set for tonight and next Friday, Nov. 6.
Why you should go: Many popular Broadway musicals are based on stories of diabolical behavior and "Little Shop of Horrors" is no exception. The infamous non-human carnivorous plant Audrey II shares his owner's unquenchable thirst for fortune and fame in this memorable musical about hero-worship, modern dentistry and all things suburbia couched in a celebration of the era of doo-wop. It will leave you thinking and laughing.
The lowdown: Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. with the two additional midnight shows. Tickets are $12/preferred seating, $11/adults, $10/seniors and $9/kids available at 462-5523, www.starlightmt.org or at the door. The Star is located at 1851 Century Way, Suite 3, Boise, (off Cole) across from Costco.
