Shelves ~ Built-in shelving in  several homes blends into the walls. They are convenient and reduce the need for extra furniture. Decorative shelving or insets make perfect spots to feature a collection or a beautiful piece of art.

The stately look ~ Taller ceilings, varied heights, coffered styles, elaborate and wide molding and arches brought a new look to the Parade Homes. Molding generally runs along the top of a wall where it meets the ceiling and the wider it is, the more stately the effects. A coffer is a sunken panel in the shape of a square, rectangle, or octagon in a ceiling. Arched and decorative interior doorways and windows made formal statements. In some cases arches and columns framed the garden tubs and dining rooms.

Bathrooms ~ Lavish master baths and spacious showers with overhead and dueling side heads complete the spa away-from-home atmosphere.

Tuscan decor ~ Earthy colors in flooring and decor seemed the rule in many homes. Rustic patina décor and wrought iron dressed up the walls and furniture.

Fireplaces ~ More dual-room fireplaces serve a living area and patio area for toasty evenings inside or out. Some fireplaces were massive and others adorned corners.
