Broncos win season opener
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Boise State wrestling team picked up one fall, one technical fall and four major decisions as the Broncos routed North Idaho College 30-12 in their season opener late Saturday.
Andrew Hochstrasser , the Broncos' 133-pounder, picked up six points for the No. 9-ranked Broncos by pinning Tracey Huffman at 6:43. In 184 pounds, Kirk Smith picked up a technichal fall, beating Celic Bell 18-2.
The Broncos will host Great Falls-Montana on Friday, one of just three home duals for Boise State this season. It will start at 6 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
Broncos close out with win
BOISE — Skyview graduate Erica Parks scored the game's lone goal on a fastbreak in the 43rd minute as the Boise State soccer team beat San Jose State 1-0 on Sunday.
With the win, the Broncos secured the No. 3 seed in this week's WAC tournament which Boise State will host. The Broncos play Fresno State at 3 p.m. Thursday in the first round.
