BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Musical instruments valued at $12,000 have been donated to Whitney Elementary School in Boise.

KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/WApgYv) the donations came through Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, which donates instruments to music programs around the nation.

Orchestra director Khrista Rowland says the gift will allow students to participate in band and orchestra.

The instruments include violins, cellos, trumpets and saxophones.
