BEND, Ore. — A fatal, single-vehicle crash happened Sunday along Highway 20 near Bend, resulting in the death of a Middleton man, Oregon State Police reported.

At about 4:30 p.m., Matthew Dreyer, 35, from Star, was traveling westbound on Highway 20 when his pickup went off the side of the road. Dryer over-corrected and the pickup rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest.

Dreyer, who was ejected and seriously injured, was taken to St. Charles Medical center in Bend.

His passenger, Christopher Johanson, 36, from Middleton, was partially ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

OSP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash. Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor and safety restraint use is pending confirmation.
