NAMPA — A minor-injury accident briefly snarled traffic this morning on westbound Interstate 84 near the Northside Road interchange.

Just before 7:45 p.m., a ladder fell from the back of a Dodge pickup truck driven by Brian A. Porkorney, 36, Caldwell. Mark M. Olsen, 50, Nampa, had pulled over to help Porkorney when his Chevrolet Suburban was side-swiped by a semi truck that was trying to avoid the ladder.

The semi, driven by David L. Mickey, 42, Lamar, Colo., and the Suburban both ended up in the median, partially blocking an eastbound lane for about two hours.

All drivers were wearing seatbelts and no serious injuries were reported. Pokorney received a citation from Idaho State Police for having an unsecured load.
