BOISE — Idaho GOP representatives are urging lawmakers not to create a state-based health insurance exchange, going against what Gov. Butch Otter recommended last month.

Idaho GOP Central Committee members voted in opposition to the state-based exchange during the committee's winter meeting Saturday at Boise's Riverside Hotel.

The recommendation will be passed on to Idaho leadership and lawmakers, who “can act on it or not as they choose,” Resolutions Committee Secretary Ronalee Linsenmann said.
