BOISE  (AP) - A coroner says a Boise man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he shot and killed his 3-year-old daughter.

Police found the two bodies at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in a car parked outside a Meridian theater in southwestern Idaho. The Ada County Coroner performed autopsies Friday and identified the man as 38-year-old Andrew Davis of Boise, and the toddler as his daughter, 3-year-old Natasha Echon-Davis.

Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg says Davis shot his daughter, who was in the back seat of his car, before turning the gun on himself.

A handgun was recovered from the vehicle, according to police.

Meridian Deputy Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea said Thursday police had no idea what a motive might have been for the shootings.
