Summer fun officially hit the Boise River Thursday as float season officially opened at Barber Park.

Temperatures in the valley are expected to dip into highs around the mid-70s today and Saturday before creeping back above 80 for Independence Day on Sunday.

This year, Barber Park boasts a new river informational kiosk, which stands at the park’s raft and tube launch area. This kiosk provides floaters and park patrons with river safety tips as well as daily river temperature and water flow level.

Services are sometimes limited if temperatures fall below 80 degrees.
