Who are your role models?
My father, my mother, Dennis Nalder, and Eric Bonds
What is it about your role models that helps you be successful?
They often set a good example for me. They model great work ethics and stand up for what they believe in. When they do make a mistake I can recognize it and learn from it and grow.
Do you do anything regularly to make the world around you a better place?
I make it a point to get to know people before I make any sort judgment about them. When I feel like I can trust somebody, I am always there for them for just about anything. Outside of that, I enjoy volunteering for camps and activities for upcoming Skyview students. I was also privileged to help in the fight for breast cancer awareness by wearing a pair of pink gloves donated by Cutter to wear in our game against Kuna. My gloves, as well as three of my teammates' gloves, were auctioned during the game in addition to several pink wristbands donated by Nike worn by players on both sides. All the proceeds benefited the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" program to aid in women getting mammograms. It's a small part but I try to do what I can.
When people first meet you, what do you think their impression is?
My honest opinion is that people see a shy but respectful person who does like to have fun without acting terribly obnoxious.
Once they get to know you, does that impression change?
I believe it does but for the better. As I get more comfortable with a person they start to see my attempt at a funny side and something I hold very dear to my heart: loyalty.
What values do you hold closest to your heart?
Honesty and loyalty
What advice would you give to kids your age about achieving goals?
The only way to achieve a goal is to first set one and never give up on it. If you diligently work towards your goal, any reasonable and realistic goal can be accomplished.
What advice have you been given that really made a difference?
When times get tough, you get tougher. You can't sit around feeling sorry for yourself and expect it to fix itself. You have to rise up and become a better person by overcoming your challenges
What do you like to do in your free time when you are not in school?
I like to play pick up games of basketball, watch movies, spend time with my family and friends, and talk to my friends.
