MERIDIAN — Meridian police arrested a middle school teacher after they say she had a sexual relationship with a former student.

About 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police found Ashley J. Beach, 37, of Meridian, and the victim, a 13-year-old boy, laying between some bushes and a fence in the area of Cherry Lane and Vineyards. The officers questioned both of them but said there were several inconsistencies in their explanations of why they were there. Detectives began and investigation and say Beach and the boy have had a relationship since April.

Beach was booked into the Ada County jail on the charge of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16.
