In government, no one is to blame. For anything. Ever.

Comedy, much like politics, is all about timing. Rush the punchline and you blow the joke — or at least stifle its impact. Effective humor needs time to breathe.

Of course you would guess political prejudice, as opposed to paying attention to economists. The cost is already excpected to be double the bill of goods we were sold. But that's OK. As long as we "hope" for its success.

No problem. My snarky comment was meant to show that Hoffman wants Obamacare to fail. He has predicted it and he want himself to be proven right. He used a snarky cartoon scenario to illustrate his point, and I did the same.

Obamacare is not already failing. Just because some health insurance rates are going up (as they always have) is not any indicator of how things will turn out in the long run. The mandatory participation and the exchanges are not yet in effect. Why would you condemn and blame Obamacare more than a year before it goes into effect? I'd guess simply political prejudice.

JAIreland: "MrHitt, that's just an empty statement. Why can't it succeed? On what do you base this claim?"

HAHA! Did you read your original post? Talk about empty. You got chutzpa, I'll give you that.

Meanwhile, we'll continue to watch healthcare costs go up when we were promised they would go down, that the bill would balance the budget when in reality the costs are already predicted to be twice what we were told, and so on. It's already failing.

Now I've answered "why" to two different questions? your turn. Why do you think you can just be snarky (1st post) and yet demand a higher standard from those with whom you disagree?

Hoffman's fantasy scenario with Bob getting bounced around between agencies is nothing but a political cartoon in words instead of graphics. An insurance exchange is a menu of plans and their cost. You pick the plan that best suits you for the price. Those below a poverty cutoff will be given a version of medicaid. Refuse to participate and pay a tax. Pretty simple.

JAIreland, Why? Because when the inevitable happens, and the giant house of cards does collapes, you will want to blame somebody, anybody, anything other than the people who built it. So you imagine people praying for its demise. It's not that we don't "want" it to succeed, it's that it cannot.

Why do I get this image of Wayne kneeling beside is bed in his PJs, hands pressed together under his lowered chin, eyes tightly closed, whispering, "God bless Mommy and Daddy, and Please Lord make Obamacare collapse onto itself."
