Katie Rowe went 3-for-3 with five RBIs and Nickayla Skinner tossed her ninth shutout of the season to lead the College of Idaho to its first Cascade Conference title since 2009 with a 8-0 win over Oregon Tech.

With the win, the Lady Yotes (34-21) earn the CCC’s automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships and will learn their opening round opponent on Tuesday afternoon. The C of I won CCC regular-season titles in 2007 and 2009, while winning the NAIA Region I title in 2008.

Facing an OIT (37-16) team that has advanced to the last two NAIA Tournaments and won the last two CCC titles, the Yotes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, as Rowe ripped a two-run single in the first to score both Molly Mills and Kayla Webb. An inning later, Alexis Macias provided two-out magic, launching a two-run double off the wall in centerfield to make it 4-0.

In the third, Rowe made it 6-0 with one swing of the bat, hitting a two-run home run, her fourth of the season. The freshman added an RBI double in the fifth, scoring on a McKensie Stanton ground out to cap the scoring.
