The College of Idaho will open the season ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced Thursday by the NAIA sports information office.

The Coyotes, coming off a national runner-up finish, begin the year with their highest preseason ranking in program history and equal their highest national ranking of all time. The C of I received one first-place vote and 571 voter points from the conference and unaffiliated grouping raters.

Defending NAIA champion, British Columbia, received 20-of-21 first-place votes to take the top spot, followed by the Yotes, Olivet Nazarene, Cal State San Marcos, and Carroll.

The C of I opens up the season next weekend at the Idaho State Open in Pocatello.
