CALDWELL — Explore a Night at the Museum when the Caldwell Foundation for Educational Opportunity hosts its dinner and auction fundraiser Saturday at The College of Idaho.

This past June, the foundation awarded more than $27,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors at Caldwell and Canyon Springs high schools, but the philanthropic reach of the local nonprofit, established in 1993, is far greater than that, according to the foundation’s vice president of public relations Chuck Randolph.

“The foundation has provided extra support for the entire educational process including continuing education and higher education whether it is college or vocational programs,” Randoph said.

CFEO is unlike many other foundations in that it is ongoing with 30 or more permanent endowments and assets of approximately $776,000.

In addition to its scholarship support for graduating seniors, the foundation provides funds for a wide variety of programs including the purchase of musical instruments for students in financial need and paying for student field trips, choir and orchestra competitions. The foundation also allocates funds for teacher grants and provided funds for the Steinway grand piano that graces the auditorium stage. Most recently, it financed a Florida science experience trip for students.

Another component of the foundation’s efforts in the community is to recognize the accomplishments of distinguished Caldwell alumni.
