Boise State continues to win games and climb in the BCS standings and national polls.
One day after the Broncos' seventh straight win, they jumped two spots to No. 19 in the latest BCS standings, released on Sunday.
Boise State (7-1) also is ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, and moved up four spots to No. 14 in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The USA Today poll is factored into the BCS rankings and the AP Poll is not.
The Broncos' climb has again raised BCS bowl conversations. The top team from a non-automatic qualifying conference at the end of the season, if ranked in the top 12 of the BCS standings, is granted a BCS bowl berth. If the Broncos do not reach the top 12, they still could qualify by being in the top 16 in the final BCS standings, be the highest ranked team from a non-automatic qualifying conference and ahead of a champion from a BCS conference.
BCS guru Jerry Palm has projected Boise State to play in the Orange Bowl.
Teams that Boise State will pay close attention to are: No. 10 Louisville, No. 20 Nebraska and No. 25 Louisiana Tech.
Louisville (8-0) is the lone Big East team in the BCS standings, Nebraska (6-2) is the only Big Ten team (Ohio State is not eligible) in the top 25 of the standings and Louisiana Tech (7-1) is the only other team from a non-BCS conference.
