I just wrapped up a day of proofreading stories for our annual Cavalcade magazine that comes out Feb. 28.
Cavalcade will feature 10 Idaho icons.
And wow - what amazing stories I have read.
Sylvia Hunt, manager of Caldwell Fine Arts, has touched thousands of lives through her passion for art and music. CFA has flourished and expanded under her direction for the past 28 years. I enjoyed reading about how her mother instilled a love for music in her at an early age.
Rosalie Sorrels' story brought me to tears - the risks she took to follow her dreams and become a successful folk singer (two-time Grammy nominee), all while raising five kids. And she left the road to take care of her ailing mother and experienced her own brushes with death. I would love to meet this woman.
Lastly, Brandi Swindell: It was a delight for me to sit down with her on a couple occasions and to write her story. I only hope I did it justice - it can be a little intimidating at first to think about how to encompass the entire person.
Tomorrow, I will read about more Idaho icons and very likely shed a tear or two.
