Boos to Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) and those continuing to back a train despite finding out it would cost $374 million of our grandkids tax dollars to upgrade the tracksplus an ongoing of subsidy of $25 million per annum. Dave Frasier at the Boise Guardian Estimates that for the price of the upgrade, we could buy 1500 busesand have one leaving for Portland or Salt Lake every minute of every hour.

What's happening is that politicians are really viewing tax money as play money and not managing it responsibly. While I think Senator Crapo has cast some fine votes, this pursuit of a train no matter what the cost to future generations is wrong and a sign of what's wrong in Washington.

Boos to the Idaho Democratic Party who recently had a frivolous complaint alleging election law violationsagainst Senator Jim Risch dismissed. It's these type of frivolous complaints that are leading to the criminalization of politics and why good people won't run for office.

Boos to David Foldesi. A woman with alzheimers fell behind on her property taxes. Her property was going to go to auction, but Foldesi went in and paid the taxes leading to the auction being cancelled, and assumed for $9,000 he'd bought the lady's house. Of course, he hadn't because paying the taxes doesn't give you the House. He's then proceeded to rent the house out for the past two years creating stress for the poor woman's family as they not only have to deal with this woman's alzheimers but a man who seems to be ignoring the law and trying to take advantage of sick, elderly person.

Boos to Spammers. Idaho is number one in spam e-mail received. Not certain what spam has to do with state lines, but with 15 out of every 16 e-mails coming to us unauthorized, there's reason to complain. (Hat Tip: Right Mind.)

Mark, I would rather that our country drilled for its own oil rather than funding outdated trains. Claudio, while I'm flattered to be thought to be Wayne Hoffman, no I haven't factored road funding into the equation. I would if road funding were going to be curtailed, but we're still going to spend those billions. The trains will never have a large enough share of the market to reduce automobile use significantly.

Good. Save your grandkids $400 million. Will they be able to drive to Salt Lake City or Portland when gas is @20 a gallon?

Wayne, in your anti-train stance have you factored in all relevant costs such as; GARVEE subsidies, highway maintainance costs, bus maintainance costs, per mile bus taxes, bus driver wages and benefits, etc.?
