Make sure to check out my story in Friday's College Gameday on the Boise State defense.
Looking at some stats this season and in recent campaigns, there's a bit of a trend that people here may be aware of, but not elsewhere — the Broncos' success is thanks as much to its defense as its high-powered offense.
For one, the Broncos have finished first in the WAC in total defense in...read more

All in all, it was a good day Saturday for Boise State sophomore tight end Kyle Efaw, as he finally got his first touchdown catch. The only downside was what happened a few minutes later.
In the third quarter, Efaw hauled in an 11-yard touchdown pass from running back Matt Kaiserman on a trick play. It was Idaho native to Idaho native against the Vandals, and was also roomate to roomate. However...read more

I'm an avid reader of Gregg Easterbrook's Page 2 column on ESPN.com, and the very end of it was something I found very amusing.

Notice that last photo? Boise State. Proposing. Cheerleader. Hilarious.
Apparently Naanee did it as a tribute to Ian Johnson and Boise State. Click here for the story.

At the half, Boise State has outgained Idaho by 32 yards (298-266), but leads 42-17.
That's thanks in big part to a Bronco defense that has intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble. Add in Titus Young's 100-yard kickoff return and that's plenty of reason why Boise State is starting to run away with it. His TD came with 14 seconds until halftime and was 13 seconds after an Idaho rushing...read more

I'm covering a little basketball the eve of tomorrow's big football game. Thought I'd pass along a few updates while I'm at it.
The Boise State women's basketball team defeated Western Oregon 76-40, the men's basketball team defeated Loyola Marymount 90-87. Boise State's women's soccer team, in its first-ever NCAA tournament, trails UCLA 4-1 in the second half.

Boise State QB Kellen Moore and Idaho QB Nathan Enderle are both ranked in the top 10 nationally in passing efficiency, and a big part of that is both have a deep receiving corps.

ESPN.com's Pat Forde, who had Kellen Moore as his Heisman front-runner last week, wrote today about the Broncos and the BCS.
Forde contends that Boise State and TCU both deserve spots in the premier bowls. He mentions that Boise State beat the likely Pac-10 champs by 11 points and that Iowa, a team that may get an at-large bid, has a less-than-stellar resume.
