Almo Creek Massacre
A monument to the 300 emigrants supposedly killed in the 1861 Almo Creek Massacre, that was erected in 1938 by the Sons and Daughter of Idaho Pioneers in Almo, Idaho. Almo lies in the evening shade of the Albion Mountain Range. At around 10,000 feet, Cache Peak, Mount Independence and Mount Harrison are Idaho’s three highest peaks south of the Snake River.
