Whooping cough doesn’t ‘know state boundary lines’

CANYON COUNTY — Widespread cases of pertussis — or whooping cough — in neighboring states have recently put Idahoans on the defense.

Staff at Saltzer Medical Group in Nampa report giving three to four shots against pertussis a week now, whereas normally they’d give one every six months or so, spokeswoman Janet Miller said.
