Meridian man dies in Monday collision on Chinden

BOISE — The Ada County coroner identified the victim of a fatal collision on Chinden Boulevard west of Eagle Road Monday as 32-year-old Gregory Yearsley of Meridian.
The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma caused by the accident. Another victim in the crash was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident occurred just before 3 p.m. when a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer broadsided a passenger car turning left onto Chinden from Bennington Way. Officials said Yearsley, who was driving the car, may have pulled out in front of the truck.
No criminal charges were filed Monday, but an investigation is ongoing.
The driver of the pickup suffered no physical injuries.
The names of other people involved in the crash will not be released, pending the ongoing investigation, or if a criminal charge is filed.
Detectives are asking anyone who was driving in the area, witnessed the crash, and did not give a statement to an officer, to please call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
