History Day
The Idaho State Historical Society sponsors National History Day in Idaho. Hundreds of Idaho's best and brightest students in fourth through 12th grade participate in Idaho's National History Day annually. The public is encouraged to view and share these remarkable history projects today at the College of Idaho. The projects will be on display from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and admission is free.

IDT's Full Throttle

Easter egg hunts
Caldwell
• The City of Caldwell holds its annual Easter Egg Scramble at Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Saturday. Children ages 3-12 can hunt for candy/prize eggs while those under the age of 3 can visit the Easter bunny and receive a balloon and sack of eggs filled with candy. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available for a small fee. Prizes will be distributed to the lucky children in each age group who find the prize eggs.
A Kiddy Carnival will also offer rides, food and games in Memorial Park, near Kimball Street. The carnival will be set up all day Saturday and Sunday.

• The Deer Flat Kidz Egg-Stravaganza is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the worship center. After the parade, head out on the lawn for a He Is Risen balloon launch. Then it's off for an Egg-stravaganzic Egg Hunt. This is a free event for kids of all ages. Deer Flat Church is at 17703 Beet Road.
Nampa
• The Nampa Firefighters Local 804, Nampa Bingo Hall and Western Cheer Elite announce the 2009 Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at Skyview Park. The annual event draws hundreds of children from 0-10 years old to celebrate the Easter Season by "hunting" for Easter eggs filled with candy and tickets, redeemable at the event for various prizes.
As with previous years, the children will be divided into groups based on age and ability. The groups are divided into: a special needs section, 0-1 year old, 2 year old, 3-4 years old, 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, and a 9-10 years old.
Skyview Park is by Skyview High School on Greenhurst Road between South Powerline and Sunnyridge roads.

• Saturday at10 a.m. is an Easter egg hunt at Zion Lutheran School, next to 12th Avenue's McDonalds in Nampa. It is open to all children ages 1-12. Thousands of candy and prize-filled eggs can be found.
• Saturday is a free Kids Easter Party from 1-4 p.m. at the Nampa Eagles Lodge, 118 11th Ave. N. Decorate eggs, join the coloring contest, enjoy hot dogs, punch, cup cakes, cookies, and goodie filled eggs.
• If you like the water and collecting eggs, the Nampa Rec Center hosts its annual Pool Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday. Bring a waterproof bag to collect your treasures. Cost is the day pass rate.
• Youth ages 13-17 are invited to the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. at Lakeview Park. Bring flashlights and meet in the playground parking lot. Cost is $3 at the event.
Melba
Families of the Melba community are invited to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Melba Elementary playground. Age group divisions will be: 0-2, 3-4, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grade. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet the children, take pictures and help hunt for over 12,000 eggs.
There will be a raffle for a Grand Prize and two runner-up prizes for only $1 per ticket. Raffle tickets may be purchased at Melba Valley Market or at the hunt on Saturday. Proceeds from the raffle are used to finance the next Easter egg hunt. Stop by the market to check out the great prizes.
The Melba girls softball team and the boys and girls track Teams will stuff the eggs today. Organizer Clovia McLeod expressed appreciation for the team's help and for the assistance of the Student Council. This activity is funded totally with donations; if you are interested in donating candy for the event, you may bring your donations to Melba Valley Market, or contact McLeod at 465-4607.
Notus
Celebrate spring with your friends and neighbors and hunt over 12,000 eggs at the annual Notus Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday on the elementary school front lawn. Sponsored by Notus PTO, it features candy and prizes in four age groups for children through sixth grade and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Bowmont
The Bowmont Community Church will host its annual Easter Extravaganza from 1-3 p.m. Saturday for kids 3 years through 5th grade. There will be crafts, the Easter story, an Easter Egg Hunt, a Petting Zoo, along with refreshments! The event is free to the community. For more information contact Linda at 495-2737. The church is located south of Nampa: Take Highway 45 south to Bowmont Road; turn left; go to 3rd Ave. ; turn right; the church is one block to the left.
